Soccer live Raiders general manager on drafting Bowers: I usually use a magic ball, not a coin

Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco addressed rumors that the team allegedly flipped a coin to determine whether tight end Brock Bowers or cornerback Terrion Arnold would be selected with the 13th overall pick in the draft.

I usually use a magic ball rather than a coin. Seriously, we spent two weeks working on different scenarios about how the situation might develop in the first round and how we would react to it, " Telesco said.

After the ceremony, cornerback Terrion Arnold, the Detroit Lions` 23rd overall pick, relayed the Raiders coach`s words that if the coin had fallen the other way, the team would have chosen him over Bowers.

I didn`t call him, and there was no coin. "As soon as the last two quarterbacks [Michael Penix and Bo Nix] left, we immediately decided on Bowers, " Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce said.

A year ago, the Raiders selected tight end Michael Mair in the second round of the draft.
