Kvitova against Pennetta at the last quarterfinal

Petra Kvitova and Flavia Pennetta will meet in the last quarterfinal of the US Open.

This morning, the fifth placed Czech stopped the fabulous time of the qualifier Johanna Konta, and beat her with 7:5, 6:3. Kvitova was nervous, but saved the five break opportunities of the Sydney-born tennis player that represents UK.

Konta, who had a series of 16 consecutive successes, lost the first set, when at the break point in the 12th game mentioned by live stream contrived to make a double fault. Petra made an early break in the second part and not allowed to be overtaken.

The Italian Pennetta is in the quarterfinals of the US Open for the sixth time in the last eight years. She dealt with the 2011 champion Samantha Stosur with 6:4, 6:4.

In the other quarterfinals will play Serena Williams - Venus Williams, Kristina Mladenovic - Roberta Vinci and Simona Halep - Victoria Azarenka.

The battle of the Williams family already has finished and the world No1 Serena reached the next stage of the tournament after an exciting match with her big sister. Her opponent in the next round is the Italian Roberta Vinci.
