Grigor Dimitrov dropped out after 5 sets thriller

Grigor Dimitrov dropped out in the second round of the US Open, after having suffered a dramatic loss of 2:3 sets against Mikhail Kukushkin - in different parts 3:6, 6:7 (2), 6:2, 6:4, 4:6. The meeting lasted more than three hours and a half and ended with the success of the competing for Kazakhstan Russian.

The No1 athlete of Bulgaria for the past year began timidly this meeting and made an uncharacteristically high number of unforced errors. Dimitrov gained a breakthrough at the beginning of the first two sets, but also allowed collapses and lost both parts, which made his task extremely difficult.

In the third set, the Bulgarian stabilized his game analyzed by 11livescores.com and managed to take it with 6:2, returning the intrigue in the game. In the fourth part, Dimitrov got a decisive break in the tenth game, and things led to a fifth set. Kukushkin left no choice for Grigor in service, and a single-wobbly service game analyzed by 11livescores.com and followed break were enough for the player from Volgograd to ensure his success.

Grigor Dimitrov will lose more points in the rankings after he failed to protect his reaching to the fourth round last year.

With this victory, Mikhail Kukushkin ensured his duel with the champion from last season - Marin Cilic, and the meeting between them is today.

Grigor Dimitrov again missed the opportunity to make a complete turnaround from 0:2 to 3:2 sets for the first time in his career.
