The Belgian Tom Saintfiet was nominated as a national coach of Malta

The 44-year-old Belgian Tom Saintfiet was appointed Malta national coach by taking over the team from Italian veteran Pietro Ghedin in 5 years and a half.

Saintfiet quickly became acquainted with the Maltese Football Association (MFA) and only after two days of negotiations has agreed to take over the team. 
'I want to thank Pietro Ghedin for his work in Malta for the past five and a half years. `My task is to take the team from this level and try to develop it, we will not blindly follow the idea of attacking football, Miss`I do not like the results like 0: 6 at all,` said the coach, who signed for a qualifying campaign. `Born in 1973, the Belgian is forced to finish his career as a defender at the age of only 23 years. He played in his home country for Leuven, Westerlo, Boom, Lomel and decided to dedicate himself to the coaching profession at the age of 24.

He started his career in low-breed clubs in Belgium, and thenmoved to Guinea and the Faroe Islands, has a strong experience i n clubs mentioned by football goals video in Africa and the Persianbay as well as national coach of Togo, Bangladesh, Namibia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Yemen and in 2016/2017 Trinidad and Tobago.
