Denver forward Aaron Gordon spoke about the importance of Michael Malone to the team. The 51-year-old has been the head coach of the Nuggets since 2015.
It`s nice when you have the same coach for several years in a row. I haven`t had this since school. In Orlando I had 6 different coaches in 5 years and then I was traded. I`m glad that I`m working with Malone for the second full season. This way I understand my teammates better. Everything feels a little more solid, something to lean on. When there is a foundation, you can build further.
Are we underestimating the importance of continuity? Certainly. We need to give the team at least 3-4 years to see how it reaches its potential before trading everyone. I didn`t have much time to play with Jokic, but I watched him play. He does everything right. If you are open, he will definitely find you. "I`m just adjusting, " Gordon admitted.
