Soccer livescore Efficiency was Everton`s big weapon on Eland Road

Everton won 2-1 away to Leeds and halted the rise of the Premier League rookie. Gilfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring in the 9th minute, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the Caramels` lead in the 41st. The honorable goal for Leeds was scored by Rafinha shortly after the break. In the standings, Everton is in 6th place with 36 points, and Leeds has 29 points and is in 11th place. Marcelo Bielsa`s team may regret their omissions, and Carlo Ancelotti should be pleased with the magnificent interventions of reserve goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Leeds achieved two consecutive victories on foreign soil, which restored the team`s confidence after the hesitant start of the year. Bielsa hoped the good series would continue, but Everton arrived with the ambition to make up for the lost points from the home defeat against Newcastle. The Caramels, who play harder outside of Goodison Park, came out without their titular guard, Jordan Pickford. The Engli sh international is injured and was replaced by Robin Olsen. Andre Gomes, Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate were the other new names in the starting lineup, and Joshua King, who was recruited a few days ago, remained on the bench. Bielsa could not count on Rodrigo Moreno and this allowed Mateusz Klich to start from the first minute. The attack of the hosts was led by Patrick Bamford, supported by the flanks of Rafinha and Jack Harrison. Everton took an early lead with a goal from Sigurdsson. The Icelander scored in the 9th minute after a cross by Luca Dean, and the attack started with a nice long pass from Andre Gomes. In the next attack of the guests Dominic Calvert-Lewin could have doubled, but Ilan Meslie saved. In the 20th minute Ezcan Alioski shot beautifully from the air, but the ball hit the crossbar. Leeds definitely dominated this period of the match, and Robin Olsen intervened well after a shot by Pascal Struke. Despite the pressure of the hosts, Everton struc k a second blow at the end of the half. The Caramels took advantage of Leeds `weakness in static situations, and Calvert-Lewin scored easily after Sigurdsson cross from a corner and Ben Godfrey passed the ball to the visitors` goal scorer. Leeds reduced their lead immediately after the break. Mason Holgate failed and Patrick Bamford took the ball away from him. The home team`s ram immediately passed to Rafinha and he was accurate with his fourth goal of the season.
